House Cross Country

Congratulations to all students who participated in our House Cross Country event last Friday, the 1st of May. It was fantastic to see such incredible house spirit on what turned out to be a beautiful, sunny morning.

A special congratulations goes to all students who placed in the top 9 and will go on to represent Burwood East at the district competition on May 14th at Jells Park. We wish you all the very best of luck.

On the day, teachers were also on the lookout for something beyond just results — they were searching for the house that showed the greatest spirit. This meant students proudly wearing their house colours, cheering loudly for their teammates, and encouraging others as they pushed through their race.

We are pleased to announce that Yellow House demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and enthusiasm, earning an additional 250 house points for ‘House Spirit’.

And now… the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

The final results of the BEPS House Cross Country event…

In 4th place, with 2770 points… Blue House.

In 3rd place, with 3110 points… Red House.

In 2nd place, with 3310 points… Green House.

Which means… our 2026 House Cross Country champions — also earning an additional 1000 points towards the overall house leader board…

Yellow House with 3710 points!

Congratulations, Yellow House! 

Looking ahead, our next House event will be Athletics next term…

Will Yellow back it up and go two in a row? Will Green reclaim their title as Athletics champions? Will Blue make an incredible comeback? Or will Red finally break their 8-year drought?

We can’t wait to find out.
