Our PBL Focus for the Next Week!

Behaviour Spotlight: Assembly Engagement and Behaviour
Expectation: Be RespectfulValues: Witness
PBL:  Include OthersHabit 6: Synergise
Friendology Link: Be a Friendologist – invite others in.

Next week, our school is focusing on assembly engagement and behaviour as part of our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) approach.

Our key expectation is Be Respectful by listening carefully, following instructions, and showing courtesy during assemblies. Assemblies are an important time to come together as a school community, and positive behaviour helps everyone feel included and valued.

This links with our PBL focus Include Others and our Friendology message: Be a Friendologist, invite others in. Students are encouraged to notice others, make space, and help everyone feel welcome.

By reinforcing these expectations, we support positive relationships, a strong sense of belonging, and a respectful school environment for all.

Congratulations to our

Behaviour Spotlight winners this week.

SPARK ART at Holy Family

Holy Family was buzzing with creativity as we proudly hosted a SPARK (Supporting Potential Among Remarkable Kids) Art Day for our Year 1 and 2 students.

Twenty‑five enthusiastic young artists from four different schools came together for a colourful day of exploration and imagination. Students travelled the globe through art, discovering the bold patterns of African masks, the delicate beauty of Japanese ink paintings, the rich symbolism of Incan drawings, and the vibrant styles of Mexican folk art.

The day was filled with creativity, curiosity, and lots of smiles as students learned, created, and shared their ideas with new friends.

A huge thank you to Mrs Overton for organising this wonderful opportunity, and to Mrs Dickinson for her invaluable support on the day. It was truly a celebration of creativity and potential in our remarkable young learners!

THE GREEN GURUS

This week the Green Team has been working really hard to take care of our school environment. One of our biggest jobs was pulling out lots of weeds from the garden. There were weeds growing around the plants and flowers, and they were starting to take up space and stop the plants from growing properly. By removing them, we helped the garden look much tidier, healthier, and much more beautiful for everyone who walks past.

We also spent time looking after our school’s recycling. Our team collected all the paper recycling from around the school and made sure it went into the correct bin. We checked that everything was clean and sorted properly so it could be recycled and reused instead of going to waste. It felt good knowing we were helping the environment in a small but important way.

The Green Team is proud of the effort we put in this week. We enjoyed working together, getting our hands dirty, and making our school a cleaner, greener place. We hope the kindy students and parents enjoy seeing the garden looking fresh and tidy, and we’re excited to keep helping our school every week.

Word of the week - Individuality

Gallery Image

Individuality means that every child is special and unique, with their own interests, strengths, ideas, and ways of learning.

  • We are encouraged to share our own ideas and opinions, even if they are different from others.
  • We learn in different ways (through drawing, talking, moving, or writing) and are supported to use the ways that help them most.
  • Talents, culture, and personality are valued and respected in the classroom.

Individuality helps students feel confident, included, and proud of who they are.

Congratulations to our Stage 3 Cluster Debaters!

After many weeks of learning how to debate and be a persuasive speaker we have finally begun the official debating season in Stage 3. After two rounds of in class debates - Are Cats better than dogs? & Should all Primary School Students learn to cook?, we saw many excellent speakers and some impressive arguments put forward! Mr Clarke and Mrs O spent a long time trying to narrow down the decision of who would make up the Cluster Debating Team for 2026.

Congratulations to all of Stage 3 for their excellent work, we are so proud of you.

Our 2 Teams are: -

Team Avocado - Emmeline C, Eleanor M, Allison B, Ashlyn L and Chris N

Team Banana - Noah T, Emma W, Beatrice, Lucas W and Mika L

Our official Chairperson responsibilities will be shared between - Harriet L and Natalie S

We wish you luck in the upcoming debating competitions.
