YEAR 4

FROM THE CLASSROOM
RESPECT is an ongoing focus for the school and has been a focal point in our Wellbeing and Circle Time discussions.
Here are some ways students describe how they are showing respect to their peers and teachers:
“Taking turns with others” – Senuja 4E
“Use manners like ‘please’ and thank you’” – Ashvika 4F
“Asking permission before going on a piece of equipment” – Andrea 4F
“Holding the door for someone” – Ricky 4E
“Listening to others when they are talking” – Shriya 4F
This week, the Year 4 students have continued to enjoy our class novel, “Wild Robot” by unpacking unfamiliar vocabulary and using the text clues to gain understanding. Students have also used questioning and vocabulary to visualise the text.
In Writing, we are moving to innovate our text. We have explored how to build suspense through pace and describing how a threat gets closer and closer. We are looking forward to reading some exciting new texts.
In Maths, the students are exploring measurement of length using formal units. We are learning to find perimeter and will look at area next week.
