MOTHERS DAY BREAKFAST

This morning, in spite of the weather, our school was filled with so much warmth, conversation and connection as families joined us for our Mother’s Day Breakfast. It was a great way to pause before the school day began and recognise the mums, grandmothers, aunties, carers and special people who play such an important role in our students’ lives.

Events like this are only possible with a great deal of organisation and support behind the scenes. A special "thank you" to Glenis, our Community Liaison, for coordinating the morning and to the many volunteers who helped with setting up, serving breakfast and making our community feel welcome.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the morning such a positive celebration.

LITERACY SUPPORT | MULTILIT

At Ramlegh Park Primary School, we are committed to supporting all students to develop strong literacy skills and confidence in their reading.

In the coming weeks some students may be specially selected to participate in MiniLit Sage, a small-group literacy support program designed for children who would benefit from additional help with reading. Students are selected using short reading assessments and teacher judgement, ensuring the program is offered to those who will benefit most from this targeted support.

Being selected for MiniLit Sage is a great opportunity. The program provides explicit, structured teaching in sounds, letters, words and reading practice, helping students strengthen important early reading skills.

MiniLit & MacqLit runs for approximately 45 minutes, four to five times per week. If your child is selected to participate, they may miss certain class sessions, including specialist classes, in order to attend the program. While we understand students enjoy their specialist lessons, this valuable literacy support is prioritised to help students make strong progress in their reading.

Families can also support their child at home by reading together regularly. Even 5–10 minutes of reading, four times a week can make a positive difference to a child’s confidence, fluency and enjoyment of reading.
