As the Father sent me, so am I sending you: receive the Holy Spirit 

In this week’s Gospel, Gospel of John, the disciples were gathered together feeling afraid and unsure after the death of Jesus. Suddenly, Jesus appeared among them and said, “Peace be with you.” He showed them his hands and side, reminding them that he was truly risen. Jesus then gave the disciples an important mission — to go out and share God’s love, peace and forgiveness with others. He breathed the Holy Spirit upon them, giving them courage and strength to continue his work in the world. 

This Gospel reminds us that even when we feel worried or uncertain, Jesus is always with us, bringing peace and guiding us to be people of kindness, forgiveness and hope 

REFLECTION PRAYER

Loving Jesus, 

You came to your disciples bringing peace, hope and courage. 

Help us at St Liborius Primary School to be people who share your peace 

with others through our words and actions. 

When we feel worried or uncertain, remind us that you are always with us. 

Guide us to forgive others, show kindness to those in need, 

and bring joy to our school community. 

May the Holy Spirit give us strength to live as faithful followers 

of Jesus each day. 

Amen.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA STATUE

 Our Lady of Fatima refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary appearing to three young shepherd children in Fátima in 1917. The three children were Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto. 

The children said that Mary appeared to them six times between May and October and shared messages about praying the Rosary, turning back to God, making sacrifices for peace, and showing kindness and love to others  

Mary asked people to pray for peace in the world, especially because World War I was happening at the time. 

One famous part of the story is called the “Miracle of the Sun,” which many people witnessed on October 13, 1917. Crowds reported seeing the sun appear to move and shine in unusual ways.

12th June – Year 2 Mass followed by morning tea in the MacKillop room 

19th June – Foundation and Year 5 Buddy Mass.  Followed by morning tea in the MacKillop room for Foundation Students and families.  

TERM 2 STUDENT AWARDS

At St Liborius, we celebrate students who demonstrate the characteristics of our founders. These awards are not just about what students do, but also about who they are and how they treat others. 

We are guided by our founders: Catherine McAuley, Mary MacKillop, and St Francis of Assisi, along with Henry Backhaus who helped build our local Catholic community. They showed kindness, courage, and care for others, and we try to follow their example every day at school.  

The recipient of the term 2 awards demonstrated the attributes shown by St Mary of the Cross MacKillop 

• Seeing a need and doing something about it. 
• Persistence with something, not giving up when a task gets hard.  
• Trying their best. 
• Taking on challenges  
• Love of learning  
• Compassion.
