MODELLING RESPECT AND EQUALITY (MoRE)

Our staff have been involved in the Modelling Respect and Equality (MoRE) program. This training is designed for adults who work closely with young people, including teachers, coaches and community leaders. 

The program is run by The Men’s Project and helps participants build skills and knowledge to promote respect, equality and positive relationships, especially among boys and young men. 

The program runs over six months and has included 

• A two-day training workshop for two members of staff 
• Ongoing support from MoRE staff and learning through PD  
• Opportunities to use these skills in school and the wider community  

This training supports our school’s commitment to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.

A recent topic covered in Yr 56....We have a problem; how can we deal with it? 

Students identified the problem in a scenario and  brainstormed possible options that  

may provide a solution to an interpersonal problem.

RIGHTS, RESILIENCE AND RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS

Recently, our Year 1 and 2 students have been taking part in an activity that helps build empathy as they consider how different situations may affect others. By listening to one another’s ideas, they engage in peer supported learning. The activity also provides opportunities to revisit language used to describe and understand more intense emotions, while exploring simple strategies to support self-regulation.
