From the Principal

Dear families, 

This week marks National Reconciliation Week - a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history and take meaningful steps toward a more just and united future. 

This year’s theme, “All in for Reconciliation,” calls on each of us to play our part in building respectful relationships and strengthening understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. Together, we are invited to listen, learn and act - committing to reconciliation not just in words, but in everyday actions that foster equity, respect and connection. 

We have some terrific activities planned for the week ahead, and I extend my thanks to our dedicated staff and student leaders who have coordinated these opportunities for learning and reflection. 

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM

As you may be aware, we are privileged to welcome celebrated Indigenous artist Elli Jackson, a current and proud member of our parent community, who has been working closely with our students as part of our Artist in Residence program. 

Our students have engaged enthusiastically in the program, demonstrating creativity and pride in their contributions. Under Elli’s guidance, they are collaboratively creating a significant artwork that will become a lasting feature of our school. 

We very much look forward to seeing the completed piece and to sharing its meaning and impact with our community. 

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to all students for their enthusiastic participation in our recent St Liborius Cross Country. It was wonderful to see so many families join us and support the event. A special congratulations to those students who have progressed to the District competition, with several now qualifying for the Regional event. Well done to each of our students for their efforts! 

BREAKFAST CLUB 

As the weather cools down, our Breakfast Club provides a warm and welcoming space for our students to begin their day. A reminder to families that Breakfast Club operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15 am in the MacKillop Room. 

We extend our sincere thanks to the Eaglehawk Bakery, who have kindly offered to supply us with delicious, fresh bread each week. We are also very grateful for the generosity of this wonderfully supportive local business, as well as the school families who contribute to supporting this program. 

PUPIL FREE DAY  

Finally, a reminder to families that tomorrow is a Pupil Free Day. This day has been designated to allow for important upgrades to our ICT hardware. Due to the nature of these works, the school site will be closed and unavailable to both staff and students. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. While students are not in attendance, staff will be using the day to engage in professional learning and other important work related to their practice.  

2027 ENROLMENTS 

We are excited to soon finalise our Foundation enrolments and begin sharing offers with families. With waiting lists at many year levels, we ask that families please notify the office as soon as possible if there are any changes to their child’s enrolment for 2027, such as relocation. This greatly assists us in our planning and ensures we can support as many families as possible.
