To Parents and Carers of Year 10 students at Our Lady of Mercy College Burraneer and De La Salle College Caringbah
As we reach the midpoint of the school year, we know that many of your families are beginning to look toward the exciting transition into senior secondary education. It is a pleasure to invite the students of Our Lady of Mercy College, Burraneer, and De La Salle College, Caringbah, to join our St Aloysius College community as they prepare for Year 11 in 2027.
St Aloysius College Cronulla is designed specifically to meet the needs of senior students. We offer a unique environment that balances academic rigor with a growing sense of independence, providing the perfect bridge between high school and the worlds of university, further training, and employment.
We are eager to welcome your sons and daughters into our Lasallian family, where they will find an extensive range of HSC and VET pathways, specialized senior facilities, and a supportive community dedicated to their success.
Important Enrolment Deadline
To assist us in our planning for subject selections and to ensure your child’s place is secured for the 2027 academic year, please note that enrolments close on Friday, 22 May.
I encourage you to finalize your application via our online enrolment portal - Compass by this date. This allows us to begin the vital process of individual consultations and subject planning, ensuring every student is placed on the right path to reach their full potential.
We look forward to meeting our prospective 2027 cohort and their families over the coming months as we begin this journey together.
Thank you for considering St Aloysius College for your child's final years of schooling.
Today we celebrated Mother’s Day breakfast for mothers/grandmothers across our College, including members of our staff. Thank you to those that attended this event. It was wonderful to celebrate Mother’s Day here at the College in Carmody Hall. Thank you to Mrs Hughes for her beautiful prayer she shared with our guests, students and staff.
The 2026 survey will take place during this term from Monday, 18 May to Friday, 12 June. Please look out for the survey which will be sent out to parents via compass.
‘Tell Them From Me’ is a suite of surveys for measuring student engagement and wellbeing. The surveys are used to capture student, parent and teacher voices, providing reliable evidence for schools to use in identifying strengths and areas for improvement. I would really appreciate your feedback from this survey.
The College celebrated Founder’s Day on Friday, 1 May, held here on our College campus. Founder's Day presents a special moment for St Aloysius College Cronulla to pause and reflect on our rich history and the vibrant future we are building together. We joyfully celebrate the feast day of our inspirational Founder, St John Baptist de La Salle.
We were deeply honored to have in attendance Brother Peter Bray, FSC, Brother Visitor for Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Papua New Guinea. Brother Peter shared a wonderful reflection with our community, providing us with a profound connection to the wider Lasallian world and reminding us of the enduring power of our mission.
The day was a magnificent expression of our school spirit, transforming the College grounds through three key highlights:
A Morning of Reflection: We commenced our celebrations with a College Liturgy. Gathering as a whole school provided a sacred space to honor the dual legacy of our patrons, St Aloysius and St John Baptist de La Salle, and to hear Brother Peter’s inspiring words.
Festive Community Stalls: During the day, the campus came alive with student-led stalls. These fostered a wonderful sense of collaboration across the year groups and raised vital funds for our Lasallian missions - Girls Lasallian Catholic High school in Pakistan, putting our core principle of social justice into direct action.
The College Talent Quest: The afternoon culminated in an energetic College talent quest in the hall. It was a joy to see students from Year 7 through to Year 12 showcase their diverse talents, reinforcing the deep sense of belonging and "togetherness" that defines the St Aloysius family.

We take this opportunity to remember and deeply appreciate the profound impact of St John Baptist de La Salle. His pioneering vision sparked an educational movement that continues to touch countless lives worldwide, and our College remains steadfastly shaped by the Lasallian Core Principles.
As we celebrate this milestone on our own soil, I warmly encourage each of you—parents, carers, students, and staff—to continue to embody these principles in your daily interactions. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to the values that form the foundation of St Aloysius College. Thank you to the parent volunteers who so graciously gave their time for this special day.
Tuesday, 26 May 2.00pm - 7.00pm
As we move toward the mid-year mark, we look forward to welcoming families onto the campus for our upcoming Parent-Teacher-Student interviews. These conversations are a vital part of our culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
Interviews for our senior students will be held in the College Learning Centre (Library) and adjacent classrooms. Booking details have been included in this letter sent to parents.
I strongly encourage parents to book interviews with all of your child’s subject teachers. This is a critical opportunity to discuss progress and strategies for success in their Preliminary and HSC courses.
We value the partnership between home and school and look forward to discussing your child’s learning journey with you.
I am pleased to provide our community with an update regarding the initial phases of our exciting campus masterplan. In June/July, we officially begin a series of vital infrastructure projects that will pave the way for our landmark three-story building.
To ensure our students continue to learn in a safe and focused environment, we have a carefully sequenced "relocation and renewal" plan in place:
Phase 1: Preserving our Spiritual Heart - College Chapel
A significant priority in our masterplan is the relocation of the College Chapel. In June/July - school holiday period, the Chapel will be moved to its new permanent home on the Top Oval. This elevated position will provide a serene and central space for prayer and reflection, overlooking our vibrant campus.
Phase 2: Preparing the Learning Centre & College Office (Terms 3/4) To facilitate the demolition of our older structures, we must first relocate our administrative hub:
Temporary Learning Centre (Library): Rooms 31, 32, and 33 will be gutted and refurbished this term to house a temporary Learning Centre.
The New College Office: Once the temporary Learning Centre/library is ready, the current Library/Learning Centre will be transformed into our new College Office on Cross Road. Work on the fitting out of this new administrative space is earmarked for Term 3/4.
Phase 3: Staff Facilities & Demolition (July Holidays)
During the July holiday break, a temporary staff demountable will be brought onto the site. This allows us to transition our staff out of the current office and staff building in preparation for its eventual demolition.
Phase 4: The New Three-Story Building
It is important to note that work on our new three-story building will not commence until the College Office has successfully moved into its new permanent facility on Cross Road. This ensures that our student services and administrative support remain fully operational throughout the build.
We thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we undertake these necessary steps to provide St Aloysius students with the world-class facilities they deserve.
I will continue to keep our community updated throughout the project including updates on the College’s social media pages when work begins.
