EOI and MOI information
This year all prep and year 1 students will be completing the EOI and MOI assessments. Below is information on what these assessments are.
English Online Interview
The English Online Interview (EOI) is an online tool for assessing the English skills of students from Foundation to Level 2 that includes 4 modules. It assesses students across the 3 modes of English in the Victorian Curriculum F-10 – Reading and Viewing, Writing and Speaking and Listening.
The interview is one-to-one between a teacher and student, using texts and downloadable resources to complete a module. Teachers record each student's responses directly onto the online system. This data is used to generate reports that provide an overview of student achievement and information to inform program planning and resource allocation.
Mathematics Online Interview
The Mathematics Online Interview (MOI) was developed as part of the Early Numeracy Research Project (ENRP).
The MOI is an online tool for assessing the mathematical knowledge of students in the early years of schooling and of 'at risk' students in the middle and upper primary levels.
The interview is one-to-one between a teacher and student. The testing is in relation to growth points, which can be described as key "stepping stones" along paths to mathematical understanding. Refer to the growth points while conducting the interview.
Teachers record each student's responses directly into the online system. This data is used to generate reports and provide an overview of student achievement and diagnostic information to inform program planning and teacher practice.
