Library News

Welcome back! The library is jam packed with lots of new titles and all the old favourites.

Borrowing will commence in Week 2. Loans are fortnightly, however some students read and swap their books weekly which they are welcome to do. A kind reminder for all children to please bring a cloth bag to library which helps keep the books clean and safe in school bags.

Prep - 2 students may borrow up to two picture story or age appropriate non-fiction books per week/fortnight.
Yr 3 - 6 students may borrow up to three books per week/fortnight.

New books require contacting before they hit the shelves and there are several in waiting so if you are able to spare a little time to cover a small pile, please let me know via email (see below). Contact is supplied and books can be covered either onsite in the Library, on Thursday or Friday in the morning or after school, or at home.

This year we are introducing Library Club on Thursdays at lunch time. Students are welcome to come into the library for half of play, to borrow, read quietly or choose a library appropriate activity, e.g. drawing/colouring.

Book Club brochures will arrive soon and students will be given a copy to take home. Book Club is a popular, optional book purchasing program whereby you can browse books in a printed catalogue, order online and have the books distributed to your child at school. Every dollar spent on Book Club earns points for our school which we can then spend on library and classroom purchases!

I'm looking forward to having the children back in the library, building their literacy skills, developing their interest and enjoyment of books and fostering a love of reading.
