Intermediate Band Camp
On the 22nd and 23rd of July, we held our annual Intermediate Music Camp at Angahook, Airey’s Inlet. The Intermediate Band and Intermediate Jazz had lots of fun rehearsing their pieces and participating in some team building activities.
The weather was kind to us and students were able to try out the rock-climbing wall, zipline and giant swing.
There was a lot of screaming coming from the giant swing (and that was just Ms Moffatt!) Our campfire singalong was the best one ever! As well as performing our VSMF pieces for parents, we also performed a fabulous version of the song “Iko Iko”, which featured wonderful singing, a bombastic bassline and energetic percussion playing.
A big thanks to Asher’s parents (Goshen and Katrina) for cooking the BBQ sausages for us. Thanks to the other parents who also stepped up to help serve the BBQ food.
Thanks to the music team (Mrs Humphrey, Ms Moffatt, Ms Hunter and Mrs Linton) for making it all happen and giving the students this amazing experience.
We are now ready to perform at the Victorian Schools Music Festival in August.
