Dear Families,

Out of all the conversations we have with families about learning, one of the most common ones is around friendships and relationships and the challenges for children in navigating these. Making and sustaining friendships can be hard work. As a school, we recognise this as an important part of a child's learning journey. As our children move into middle school this becomes even more complex and our children need a strong understanding of themselves, as well as emotional regulation skills.

In understanding the importance of this, we have partnered with Uniting Wimmera to offer our Grade 3 - 6 children the opportunity to participate in the MPower and Revved Up workshops through Stride Education. Grade 3 - 6 children will receive a note about the content of the day.

A Parent information session is to be held on Wednesday 7th August, 2024 at a time to be advised. This information session will be held to inform parents of the content of the workshops and will include how you can support your child in the program through using social-emotional learning tips. Whilst you may not have children in Grades 3 - 6 you are more than welcome to attend. Parenting can be a tough gig and it is always good to be thinking about what might be ahead for your child.

While I know life is busy, I urge all families to attend and make the most of these opportunities to understand what is happening for our children.

Just a reminder as well that our school has a subscription to School TV which has a range of articles and information for families. Just log onto the school website and click on the School TV button. This is a fantastic resource for families.

Last week I mentioned a parent survey that was soon to be released. It has been released and you can access it via a PAM/Simon Everywhere notification. So that you know, you will receive it more than once if you have more than one child at school. You only need to complete it once though.
