Did you know that students can spend up to 300 hours in the playground each year???
(half an hour at recess, half an hour at lunch and up to 30 minutes before school).
On School Development Day the staff spent some time looking at the power of play - and the opportunities the playground gives our students:
In order to nurture students skills and dispositions in play - the staff provide a whole lot of supports - and different types of play equipment are just one aspect!
On the playground this term we will see such things as skipping, quoits, limbo, air hockey, scooters, giant jenga, connect 4, giant lego, table tennis and much more! We are working hard to make sure that students have down-time and make the most of the opportunities on the playground.
This week we held our K-6 Athletics Carnival. It was a chilly day but students made the most of it - running, jumping, throwing and having fun.
Thank you to the many families who came along to support us.
