100 Days of Prep

Congratulations to our Prep students who completed 100 days of school last week. The children have come a long way in their school journey and have made huge growth in their learning and independence. Last Friday, our Prep students and their teachers celebrated 100 days dressed in colourful t-shirts representing the number 100. Well done again, and we wish wish you all the best for the rest of your Prep year.  A great effort from many of our parents as well creating these colourful t-shirts!

WHPS Art Show -Thursday 12th September

The WHPS Arts Show is coming up soon. The Art Show is celebration of the our wonderful Visual Arts program and the amazing work and learning students produce in this subject. It will be held in Thursday 12th September in the school gym over two sessions from 3:45-4:45pm and 6-7:30pm.

Every student will have some art work on display and there will also be raffles, an auction of class canvases, a coffee van and the sale of art works. The art show has been a great community event in the past and we look forward to your support so it can be again this year!

Thanks to Buxton Real Estate Wheelers Hill for their support of the event.

Book Week

We are looking forward to an exciting book week next week with visiting authors, fun activities in classrooms and a book parade on Friday morning on the oval at 9:10pm. Parents are more than welcome to visit the assembly and watch the book characters our students and staff are dressed up as. If you haven't thought of a book character costume already for your child, now is the time.

Parent Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August 2024. All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home.

A email with a link to the survey has been sent to all parents. Thank you to the parents who have already completed the survey.

Prep Places 2025

For some parents, please be aware of any more communication from the office staff who may be requiring more documentation / information for your application.

Later in the term information will be sent out about transition days and preparation for school in 2025.

Parents Association Olympics Event

The WHPS Parents Association held its first even Olympics Celebration after school on Friday 26th July. Approximately 200 students and their parents attended and participated in a variety of games and activities provided by Kaboom Sports. A big thank you to the Parents Association, in particular Kimmie Patel, for organising such a fun and successful afternoon for the WHPS community. Also thanks to Ray White Glen Waverley for sponsoring the event and helping out with the medals and certificates for the students, as well as prizes for the raffles.
