Athletics Carnival

Well done to all of our students that competed at the senior athletics carnival. It was a great day filled with amazing examples of students demonstrating The Tally Way. Congratulations to Dwyer who took out the win for the day in a close fought battle from the other two houses. The level of competition on the day was fantastic.

Well done to our age champions on the day. Congratulations to the students that were selected in our school team, who will head to Runaway Bay Sporting complex next Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Oceanic Track and Field carnival.

Age Champions

Allschools Oztag

On the weekend I had the privilege of heading to the Sunshine Coast with 15 of our girls to compete in the Queensland Allschools Oztag carnival. This is a huge statewide carnival that runs over 3 days. The girls did an outstanding job of coming together to compete against some very tough teams.  They only lost two matches which was against the overall 1st and 2nd place teams. They did a great job and fought hard but were unfortunately knocked out in the finals. Thank you to the girls and the parents for a great weekend!

Sporting Achievements

A massive congratulations to Eva who recently took out 2nd place in the Queensland Schools Cross Country carnival. This is an amazing achievement and a huge credit to all the hard work and training she has been doing.  Eva will now head to the National Titles in a couple of weeks to compete against the best runners in the nation. Good luck Eva, go and show them what you got!!

Another huge congratulations to Julian who was selected in the Queensland hockey team and the Oceanic cricket team. This too is a massive achievement and a huge credit to your hard work and training.  Julian will now head to the national hockey titles representing Queensland. Good luck for the nationals Julian.

Massive congratulations to Brenner who played baseball for the 10 year old National Champion Series, winning the gold medal game. During this competition, Brenner was selected to play for the Aussie Drop Bears team in America. Brenner is currently playing in America representing the Australian team. We look forward to hearing about his success upon his return.

A huge congratulations to Jimi and Fionn who were selected in the under 12 Queensland Barbarian Rugby Union squad. This is a very tough team to get into and a huge credit to the boys and all the hard work they have put in over the last two years to be selected in this side. Well done boys!

Flag Football

On the 14th August Mr Baker will be taking our Flag Football team to the Queensland Flag Football titles at Currumbin Alleygators Rugby Union fields. This is the first round in the regional Flag Football titles. If they are successful in getting through the QLD round they will head to Runaway Bay to compete in the National Conference. If they are successful at the National Conference, they will be sent to Las Vegas to compete against America's top flag football teams. Our team has been training hard with Mr Baker to give it their best shot. Good luck!
