News and Notices

Tally Tiger TV

This year, we reintroduced Tally Tiger TV.  Tally Tiger TV episodes are short educational movies designed to support the teaching and learning within our whole-school wellbeing and positive behaviour program, The Tally Way.

We have been delighted to feature 2024 Olympic athletes, Alyce Wood and Jenna Strauch, in two recent episodes and have shared these on Facebook for families to see.  We appreciate being able to provide these inspiring, real world examples of people using the skills and attitudes of The Tally Way for our students.  Thank you to Alyce and Jenna!  Thank you also to our wonderful students involved, Maeve, Lennox, Jesse and Ryder!

  Olympic Challenge

We are embracing the excitement of the Olympics and students from Year 2 to Year 6 are enjoying completing our very own Olympic Mascot hunt challenge during break times.  Each day, Mr Tengdahl shares clues and children can look for hidden mascot stickers that each have information to help them solve the overall puzzle.  Participating children are having a lot of fun!

Progress Interviews

Progress interviews are underway and the final session is tonight.  Thank you to all parents and carers who have taken up this valuable opportunity to partner with us and hear an update about their children's learning.

Readers Cup

Congratulations to Joshua Ellwood, Julian Shortreed, Liam Cantrell, Callum Cantrell, Liam Redmond who recently participated in the 2024 Readers Cup Challenge. We are very proud of their efforts placing 4th out of 24 other schools.  Thank you to Mrs Berryman for coaching this talented team.

Winter Uniform

It’s been cold at school in the mornings recently, reminding us that it is definitely Winter even though our days are clear and warm.

Please ensure that your child continues to wear the correct uniform even in cold weather and that jumpers and hats are named in case they are misplaced.

Term 4 Week 11 - Alternative Program

Term 4 will have 11 weeks this year instead of the usual 10.  Therefore, the Department of Education have advised that the additional week will be an alternative program as the normal educational programs will have been completed by then.  In light of that, our school calendar will have final end of year events such as Tally Way Day and the Tunnel of Love in Term 4 Week 10 like previous years.

Run for Fun Colour Explosion

We are very excited about holding a Run for Fun Colour Explosion late this term and ask families to keep their eyes out for information being sent home with students in the week of 12 August.

Guramala

Guramala is thriving and our students are enjoying learning and playing in this area.

Fruit Trees

We are fortunate to have an array of fruit trees in our school, thanks to the support of our P&C.  These trees are enjoying a move to a slightly sunnier spot in the school and are flowering.  Scotty does an outstanding job maintaining our beautiful grounds.
