Lola our Wellbeing Dog
Building authentic connections with Lola is so important for our staff. This takes time. This connection underpins everything that we ask of Lola, and to honor what she can offer, we must make sure we allocate deliberate time and effort to build these relationships with her.
We are allowing plenty of time for this to happen with our Pilgrim staff. We will expand this gradually over time so our school is a place of safety and fun for Lola.
I understand this can be frustrating for students because she is so cute and our natural instincts want to cuddle and play with her and have her in their classrooms really soon. We must remember that Lola is possibly one of the most vulnerable beings here at school when we consider her perspective, her integration will expand over time as her maturity and confidence grows.
We are so grateful for how our staff have welcomed Lola into their spaces and hearts, they are setting aside time during busy days to nurture the connection they have with our wonderful Wellbeing Dog.
