Strategies and Activities
Excellence in teaching and learning
- Continue to develop our evidence-based instructional model
- Consult with staff to develop the expectations of each component of the instructional model
- Present the evidence-based instructional model to staff, and provide ongoing professional learning (including professional reading)
- Schedule time for coaching to support staff to apply the instructional model and refine the process for classroom observations related to the model
Positive climate for learning
- Present and unpack the DET resource ‘Positive Classroom Management Strategies’ with staff during professional learning sessions
- Create a rating system for our ASPIRE values that translates into a new expectation statement for our semester reports
- Enable learning management system notifications for our parents/carers/kin on COMPASS to share behaviours related to our ASPIRE values
- Develop lessons plans for each of the ASPIRE values for each year level
Mobile Phones Policy
Please refer to our school mobile phones policy that has been included below. This is in line with Department policy, which is a Ministerial order:
https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/students-using-mobile-phones/policy
This policy has been discussed with senior students, who bring a mobile phone/smart watch to school. If your child wears a smart watch, please remember that the watch must be on silent and uncontactable during school times. Mobile phones must be off/on silent and stored securely in student bags or at the school office. Phones must not be accessed at any time during school hours.
We greatly appreciate all parents/carers making children aware of pickup arrangements, prior to dropping children at school. If there are late changes that need to relayed before the end of the school day, parents/carers need to contact the school office.
Next Assembly – Change of Date
Please note that we have changed the date for our next assembly, it will no longer be held this week but will now be held on Friday 14th March. Year 2KW will be hosting.
We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the Traditional
