PATHWAYS REPORT
MRS SALLY LOONEY & MRS ANNA STEICKE
This year we have four Year 10 pathways classes that we will prepare for work experience later on in the year and take out on industry visits around our local community.
Over the last couple of weeks we have visited the Swan Hill District Health (SHDH) Education Centre for a presentation from Jayne Stead the Education Manager at SHDH. Currently, SHDH employs over 700 staff making it the biggest organisation in our town.
The visits highlighted the different pathways required for different careers including TAFE and university degrees into the allied health and nursing sectors of our local hospital.
They also gained insight into the importance of confidentiality and good communication skills while on work experience. Students can collect expression of interest forms for work experience with SHDH from the pathway office.
