Library Lessons

Library lessons are in full swing for our primary students. We have been learning about how to choose a good book and the different genres we can read.  Each lesson, students have the opportunity to take a book home to read (or have read to them).  The excitement among our younger students of choosing their book to take home is wonderful to see. Please ask your child what they are borrowing and reading. They love to share!

Foundation to Year 2 Library Bags

Don’t forget to supply your child with a library bag to bring each week. Library bags help to keep our books safe and easily locatable. Your child may bring home a bag on loan until they get one for themselves. Let us know if there are any difficulties.

Lost and Overdue Books

Some students still had books out on loan at the end of 2024 and we suggested families take the school holidays to try to find the missing items. If your child still has outstanding books we would like to finalise these and create a new beginning. Our resources are there to be shared by the whole school community. Families will receive a letter via Operoo about items still to be returned from 2024. If you have any questions give us a call.

Scholastic Book Club

Our second  Scholastic Book Club flyer is currently out with orders due back on the 14th March. We had some very excited students receive their books from Issue 1. Thank you  to those parents who were able to order from the first issue. Here is the link for the current  Issue 2 Catalogue. If you are new to BookClub, ordering is easy online, or you can fill out an order form (found in the catalogue) and pay by cash at the Office.

We are part of the Scholastic Book Club Program because it offers students and families a chance to buy a book for a small cost. We also get the benefit of the points allowing the Library to get more popular books for students to read.
