From the Principal

Wow, the end of Week 6 - time flies when you’re having fun! We have had so many amazing school events take place in Term 1, including our Year 7 Camp, Foundation/Year 1 Staybacks, Year 2 Sleepover, Partnerships DOXA Camp, Year 12 Retreat, OES camps as well as numerous excursions and interschool sports events. A huge thank you to all the staff for their support and involvement in making these events happen.

As we step into the sacred season of Lent, our St Augustine’s College community has already embraced this journey with great spirit and togetherness. We began with a terrific turnout for our Shrove Tuesday breakfast, where students, staff and families gathered to share delicious pancakes and reflect on the meaning behind this long-standing tradition. It was a joyful morning filled with laughter, connection and gratitude - an opportunity to prepare our hearts for what lies ahead.

Ash Wednesday saw our community come together in reverence as we received the ashes, a sign of our commitment to renewal, prayer, and growth in faith. Lent is not just a time of sacrifice; it is a season of transformation and opportunity - a chance to deepen our relationship with God and with one another. Through prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness, we are called to open our hearts to God’s love and extend that love to those in need. May this Lenten season inspire us all to walk with faith, hope and generosity, knowing that through small acts of love, we can make a big difference in the lives of others.

As a Catholic, faith-based community, I would like to acknowledge the ill health of our Pope currently, and offer our collective prayers and strength for him at this time.

Take care and God bless,

Tim Campbell
