PILGRIMS OF HOPE

Pope Francis has designated the 2025 Holy Year as a time to renew ourselves as "Pilgrims of Hope. Here at St Liborius Primary School, we too journey together as Pilgrims of Hope.

To be a Pilgrim of Hope is to embrace life as a journey – a sacred path where we walk with trust in God’s promises, even when the road is uncertain.  A pilgrim is not someone who has arrived but someone who moves forward, sustained by faith, guided by light, and anchored in hope.

Hope is not merely optimism or wishful thinking; it is a confident trust in God’s presence and purpose.  This hope reassures us that God walls with us in the challenges of change, the struggles of growth, and the joy of discovery.

Ultimately, Pilgrims of Hope are those who carry light into the world.  Our hope is not only for ourselves but for others. It challenges us to keep moving forward with faith, to embrace change with courage, and to trust that God’s hand is guiding us toward something greater. Let us walk this path together, as pilgrims who inspire hope and embody God’s love

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,

may the faith you have given us

in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,

and the flame of charity enkindled

in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,

reawaken in us the blessed hope

for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us

into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.

May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos

in the sure expectation

of a new heaven and a new earth,

when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,

your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee

reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope

a yearning for the treasures of heaven.

May that same grace spread

the joy and peace of our Redeemer

throughout the earth.

To you our God, eternally blessed,

be glory and praise for ever.

Amen
