From the Principal

Dear School Community,
Happy New Year and a heartfelt welcome back to all our students, families, and staff! What an amazing start we've had to the year, with an overwhelming sense of energy and anticipation in the air.
Our staff returned last week, and we officially launched Magnify within our Diocese with great celebration. With InitiaLit and Ochre now underway across our school, we look forward to tracking your child’s progress in a supportive and nurturing environment. Some photos of Magnify in action are included below.
Welcome to New Staff and Families
We are delighted to welcome several new staff members and families to our school community this year. Our new team members bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and passion for Catholic education. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to the following staff as they begin their journey with us:
· John O’Connor, Leadership Team Member, Classroom Teacher
· Kevin Patterson, Maintenance Officer
· Jack English, Learning Support Officer
It has also been wonderful to connect with many new families throughout the week. It was truly special to meet and get to know you all, and we are thrilled to have you join our community. We look forward to walking with you and your children in faith and education.
Microsoft Surface Devices and Safe on Social
As you may remember, St. Liborius has recently migrated its computer systems to a Microsoft environment. Following this, at the beginning of this year, we received new devices for students and staff, which is exciting for many.
Students in Year 5/6 will have the opportunity to use these devices at home when required. Before students are permitted to take their devices home, we ask that parents please attend our Safe on Social Parent Evening, which will take place on February 19 at
7 p.m. Additional information regarding Safe on Social will be shared shortly. This adults-only session is designed to inform us on how we can safely support our children with technology. Those who attended this session last year commented that it was one of the most helpful information sessions they had attended. All parents, regardless of the age of their children, are welcome to attend this evening.
Goal Setting Meetings
Thank you to all families for their collaboration during our Goal Setting meetings. We hope these meetings have provided an opportunity for meaningful conversation surrounding your child’s learning and goals. We look forward to working with you throughout the year to support your child’s growth across all areas.
As we continue this school year, let us remember the importance of community, support, and prayer. Together, we will make this a year of growth, joy, and faith-filled learning.
Blessings,
Alannah
