Principal's Report

Child Safety

While we live in a small community, we must remember that not all our staff or students are familiar with a family member by sight or name. We also have students with a vast range of additional learning complexities, where unfamiliar people add to the congestion in the corridors, making it difficult for them to navigate.

As such, we remind all visitors to our school to, enter through the front entrance and go straight to the office. From there, we can then send for students or deliver things or messages to them, without disrupting the flow of the day.

House Swimming Sports

House Swimming Sports are on Tuesday 11th February. The weather is looking like a ‘Goldilocks’ day, where it will be warm, but not too hot – just right! All students are expected at school on this day, even if they aren’t participating in any swimming events. They can still earn points for their house in many other ways, such as wearing house colours and adding to the team spirit. Students are reminded to bring cash for the VCE-VM students’ BBQ.

Family members are most welcome to attend. If you would like to volunteer to help on the day, please contact Jenny Farrington at school by Monday morning.

School Council

The last meeting of the current school council will be held in Week 4, on Wednesday 19th February. There will be a number of positions that will become available, so please consider if this is something that you might be interested in and could commit to.

Further details and information will be advertised in next week’s newsletter.

Welcome BBQ

We look forward to seeing you at the Mount Beauty Secondary College Welcome BBQ. Getting to know our families helps to create the partnership required to provide the best education for your child. To ring in the new year, we will be holding our Welcome BBQ on Wednesday 12th February, from 5-7pm, outside the Jessie Hollonds Studios.

To help us determine numbers for catering purposes - please RSVP.
