Science News

The Year 7 Scientists have been focussing on how to conduct practicals in a safety manner following written instructions. During these sessions the students have concentrated on improving their ‘Observational’ skills.

Year 10 got straight into experiments to support their understanding of the three Newton’s Laws.

The first law of motion, also known as the Law of Inertia, states that an object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will continue moving at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by a net external force.

The second law of motion states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net external force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass.

The third law of motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Year 7 News

Our Year 7 students have had an exciting couple of weeks as they begin their secondary school journey!

A big congratulations to Karleisha, River, Max, Riley, Harvey, and Caleb, who represented Donald High School at the Interschool Swimming Sports on Monday at St Arnaud.

Today, we are heading to Lake Boort for our Year 7 camp. A huge thanks to Mr. Aikman and Miss Cavanagh for accompanying us. We will also be joined by Mr. Tatchell and the Vocational Major students, who have helped organize our activities for Wednesday.

Lastly, a special thank you to Kelvin Hepworth and Tony Fagan, who will be bringing their speed boats to Lake Boort to add an extra thrill to the experience.
