School safety

It is extremely important our Parents and carers are using the school crossings before and after school for several reasons:

  1. Safety: The primary reason for using the school crossing is safety. These designated crossings are set up to ensure children, parents, and carers can cross roads safely. They are often located at the busiest intersections near schools, where traffic is heavy before and after school hours. Using the crossing helps reduce the risk of accidents and provides a safer environment for students.

  2. Role Modelling: Parents and carers set a good example for children by following safe practices. When adults use the designated crossings, they teach children the importance of road safety and the correct way to navigate traffic. Children are more likely to adopt these habits if they see their caregivers behaving responsibly.

  3. Traffic Management: School zones often experience high traffic volume during drop-off and pick-up times. By using the crossing, parents and carers help with the flow of traffic and avoid contributing to congestion or creating additional hazards. It also encourages other drivers to be more cautious and aware of pedestrian crossings.

  4. Community Responsibility: By using the school crossing, parents and carers contribute to a safer community. It shows they care about not only the safety of their own children but also about the wellbeing of other children and families in the area.

In short, using the school crossing is a simple but effective way to ensure that everyone is safe and that children are taught the importance of road safety from an early age. Please support our school and keep our children safe by using the crossings and not choosing to cross in other areas.
