Welcome to the 2025 Performing Arts and Music Academy. 

After an amazing 2024 we are looking forward to another fabulous year.  Music is an integral part of life at Macleod College, where students have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument in a quality music program.  The newsletter outlines a review of the year so far, information on all the Ensembles, photos and details on upcoming events.

Instrumental Music

There are still Instrumental Music places available in the brass program. If you are interested in learning trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium or tuba, please complete the expression of interest form here.  There are many benefits of playing a musical instrument.

  • Teaches discipline, perseverance and patience

  • Exposure to cultural history

Ways You Can Help: Are you passionate about music, theatre, and all things performance? We're looking for enthusiastic helpers to support our concerts, musicals, and various events throughout the year. Whether you have experience or are eager to learn, there's a place for you!

  • Assist with set-up and pack-up
  • Help with costumes, makeup, hair, props, and backstage support
  • Directing guests and organising event logistics
  • Providing support during performances

Melbourne Youth Orchestra Summer School

Mackenzie Hawkins represented Macleod College in the Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra over the summer, performing on clarinet as part of the ensemble. Here are some recordings from the concert.
