Library - Welcome back to a New School Year!

Mrs Simone Gillies | Teacher Librarian

As we embark on another exciting school year, I am thrilled to share some highlights and updates from our library. In the first 3 weeks of the school year, our library has been a bustling hub of activity, and we are delighted to see so many students making the most of our resources and space.

Library Loans and Resources

We have had a fantastic start to the year with an impressive number of loans:

  • 415 general loans: Our collection of fiction and non-fiction books has been flying off the shelves.

  • 1685 textbooks: Ensuring our students are well-equipped for their studies.

  • 324 laptops: Providing essential technology for research and assignments.

Special Displays and Events

We celebrated Library Lovers (Feb 14) with a special display that showcases some of the most beloved books and authors. Additionally, our Blind Date with a Book event was a fun way to discover new reads – simply pick a wrapped book and take it home for a surprise literary adventure.

Weekly Activities

We are excited to announce that our Lego Club, meeting every Wednesday, is slowly growing in popularity. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to unleash their creativity and collaborate on building projects.

Library as a Social Space

It's wonderful to see the library buzzing with activity during recess. A large number of students are enjoying the space to read, study, and socialise. The library is truly a vibrant part of our school community.

We look forward to another year of learning, exploration, and fun in the library. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.

Happy reading!
