PE:

Prep-3: In week 4, our grades from Prep-2 finished up their Basic Movement and Games learning, where they explored how to move our bodies in different ways safely and explored some familiar games. In week 5, these grades started learning about Athletics which included a fun game called Rock, Bridge, and Tree that involved a mixture of running, crawling, and jumping.

Grades 4-6: In week 4, our grades from 4-6 finished their mini Invasion sports unit by learning more about the roles of defense and attack in Basketball. In week 5, these grades began their learning about Net/Wall sports through a modified game of Volleyball called Newcomb (some students even challenged themselves to use Volleyball rules more than Newcomb - well done!).

ART

In art this fortnight, the 1/2s and 2/3s had fun creating beautiful chicken drawings as the baby chicks hatched in the science room. Meanwhile, the Preps had a fantastic time discovering how chameleons change colour. They mixed colours to create their own colour changing chameleons. The 4,5 and 6s are getting creative and making their own street art murals on a small scale model. There have been lots of interesting designs and individual styles showcased by the 4,5 and 6s!

SCIENCE:

Over the past two weeks we have been watching baby chicks hatch!

They are all ADROABLE and very loved.

We have learnt about chicken lifecycles in the junior years, caring for animals in the junipr years & animal adaptations in the senior years.

If you would like to adopt a chicken please email Alex Lewis! alexandra.lewis@education.vic.gov.au
