Volunteer Induction:
An induction session for all parents / guardians who wish to volunteer at school will be held on Wednesday 12th March, 9.30 to 10.30am in the school Library. Please note that a current working with children's check is required to be able to help in classrooms as well as attending this induction session.
School Hats:
Please remind your children that they need to be wearing a sunsmart Bunyip School hat or a plain navy blue sunsmart hat at school. Students who are not wearing the correct hat will be asked to stay under hard cover areas. School Council have approved both the current dress code policy and sunsmart policy and we expect our families to follow these policies. The policy outlines the process for exemptions.
PBS Captains:
Our School Positive Behaviour Support Captains ( Kai, Jasmine and Annabel) have been busy helping P&F spread the news about our school colour fun run scheduled for the end of March. Well done to Prep/1 Stoll who had made the most individual profiles by today. All students should have brought home information on the fund run and how to create a profile.
Interschool Sports:
On March 25th, students from Grades 4 to 6 will have the opportunity to participate in interschool sports at Koo Wee Rup. Students have opted to try out for Basketball, Volleyball and Cricket. If any of our parents are skilled in coaching tennis or basketball, we would love to have your help leading up to the event and on the day. If you can assist with tennis, please speak to myself, if you can assist with basketball, please speak to Leanne Pettigrove.
ChildSafe:
Child safety and wellbeing at Bunyip Primary School: information for families and the school community
The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Bunyip Primary School has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on our school website https://www.bunyipps.vic.edu.au/ and at the school’s front office.
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.
If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact the school Principal.
