Jubilee 2025 - 'Pilgrims of Hope'

Pope Francis has decreed that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, a holy year which happens every 25 years in the Catholic Church. In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into right relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation.

The theme is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone". We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.

The Jubilee Year is a landmark moment in the life of the global church. School communities are invited to join together as pilgrims of hope, pledging to work together for God’s kingdom of justice, peace and love.

We, at OLA, will continue to focus on conversations about hope as this is also our theme for 2025. 

Morning Meditation

It is so calming to see all of our classes engaging in whole school meditation each morning. The Grade 3/4 classes are also taking this opportunity to gather as a grade level to meditate and pray to start the day with student leaders are chosen to lead the acknowledgement and prayer.
