Years F & 1

We have settled in nicely to the routines of school in the Foundation and Year 1 room. They are doing an amazing job and have such a positive attitude to school. We started our sounds write last week and it has been great watching the foundations following the process of saying the sounds and reading the word. I would like them to practise and show families at home. They have even followed the Peggy Lego stories well to help with writing the letters. 

In maths we have been looking at patterns and making different 2 and 3 patterns. The students have used materials like unifix blocks and shapes. We have even had some fun making patterns with clapping. They have practised finishing patterns and drawing them into their maths books. We have been having a look at some skip counting which has been very impressive.
