Special thanks to Mr. Kromlidis for promoting the game via Microsoft Teams, putting up posters in the SLC building, and ensuring strong communication between both departments. A big thank you also goes to Mr. Udara for organizing his students and making the event run smoothly. The WELC girls were the first team to play. A big thank you to Mr G. for refereeing the game all lunchtime. The organisers can’t do this without volunteers.

Congratulations Senior Cricket (mixed)
A strong win against Sandringham was an awesome way to finish the long hot day at Caulfield Park. They were first team to go into competition against the other Bayside Colleges. We are really proud of them. As the new coordinator, we couldn’t get off to a better start. Our seniors went first and now the intermediates are playing on Monday 17th.

Fastest runners - comp for the fastest sprinter in the school
Mr Kromlidis and Mr Udara combined the WELC and year 8 students to learn how to sprint and run. We emphasized arm movement and high knee action. But there was lots of language development as well. The students applied their new knowledge in sprinting 100 metres just outside the senior student building on the asphalt track.

Westall Junior Lawn Bowls Teams Make History with Victory Over McKinnon
In an exciting turn of events, Westall’s Junior Lawn Bowls Team claimed a historic victory over McKinnon for the first time in the annual lawn bowls competition. Played at the McKinnon Bowls Club, our junior team—comprising Year 7, 8, and 9 students—defeated the favourites in the junior section, proving their skill and determination on the greens.
Confidence was high heading into the competition, and our players delivered an outstanding performance. In addition to the juniors' success, our senior team also made an impact by securing a win against the eventual champions, Sandringham Secondary College.
This achievement highlights the depth of talent among our students and reinforces our commitment to promoting all sports—big or small. Westall will continue to provide opportunities for students to showcase their sporting prowess and compete at the highest level. Big thanks to super coach Mrs. Collins.
