Vermont Secondary College
Welcome to the start of an exciting journey! As your child begins their Year 7 adventure, we want to take a moment to acknowledge this important milestone. The transition to secondary school is a big step, filled with new experiences, friendships, and opportunities for growth.
The first few weeks of school are all about settling in—getting to know teachers, navigating new classrooms, and building friendships. Our staff are here to ensure a smooth transition, offering guidance and support to help students feel comfortable and confident in their new environment.
One of the highlights of Term 1 is the much-anticipated Year 7 Camp at camp Marysville! Year 7 camp is next week with Macedon going Monday to Wednesday. Stirling and Hotham will follow on Wednesday to Friday. This incredible experience is designed to help students develop independence, build friendships, and embrace new challenges in a fun and supportive setting. With a variety of activities, from team-building exercises to outdoor adventures, camp is a fantastic way for students to bond and create lasting memories.
An email was sent out earlier this week with a packing list and some basic camp information, we also had a student briefing on Thursday with all year 7 students explaining what to expect.
Camp is not just about fun; it also plays a crucial role in fostering resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging. We encourage you to talk to your child about what to expect and share in their excitement. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
We can’t wait to see our Year 7 students flourish this year and look forward to sharing this journey with you. Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready for an amazing year ahead!
