The annual junior swimming carnival was held once again at Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre’s outdoor pool. The sun was shining, which ensured that there were plenty of competitors across all events. There were numerous highlights from the day including house pride with many dressed in their house colours, standing poolside cheering for their peers with painted signs of support. The elite swimmers, to the casual swimmers getting the job done for those precious house points, and finally the staff v senior students relay organised by Ms Unal was another terrific highlight.

It was a beautiful summer day for the senior boys cricket team's round robin last Friday. Starting the day with a game against Highvale. A 50* from Lucas H started the day off strongly, with 113 runs on the board after the 15 overs. However, some inconsistent bowling and poor fielding led to Highvale making the required runs with 10 balls to go.
The second game against Mount Waverly had some fantastic VSC performances. The comradery between the boys was evident with plenty of chatter in the field. Benny L set the tone, with a rapid 3/24 from his three-over spell. Some fantastic fielding, including a screamer of a catch in the gully from Mihir D and three catches to Lucas H had Mount Waverly out for 116.
The run chase was rapid, with Max S making an unbeaten 50* from 31 balls, with contributions from Oli W, Ben L & Paras D. VSC chased down the required 116 runs with 17 balls remaining.
Well done to the boys on the day, in particular Lucas H for captaining the side.
