Hot Shots Tennis State Championships

If you have been following these pages, you will be aware that our EVPS Boys Hot Shots Tennis Team have won three progressive stages of tournaments (District, Division, and Regional) to qualify for the Hot Shots Tennis State Championships 2024.

The Championships were held at the prestigious Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in Toorak on Tuesday the 26th of November.

The EVPS Boys were placed in Pool A against the top 3 regional schools from the Southern Metro, Geelong West and Loddon Mallee Regions.

The matches were all a step up in quality, with our boys losing some tough games but going on to win against all 3 schools in our pool and progressing to Semi Final 1 against the red hot Geelong College. Despite a hard fought effort, they narrowly lost 7 sets to 5.

Despite their disappointment they got themselves up for a match for against St Mary’s PS. They won the match 10 sets to 2, getting the third place medallion.

Finishing 3rd in the state is a monumental achievement and the boys should be incredibly proud of themselves for such a wonderful run. They represented the school with great humility and pride. Well Done Boys!
