It’s been another busy two weeks at EVPS and there are lots of exciting things happening around the school. The weather is warming up and students, families and teachers are getting excited for the upcoming holiday season.
Upcoming End of Year Celebration - Thursday 12th December
Recently the 2025 Leadership Team had our annual leadership day. This was an opportunity for professional growth, reflection, and collaboration around the work we do to improve student learning and wellbeing.
This year we focussed on strengthening our wellbeing and leadership skills as a team. We also participated in collaborative planning related to next year’s Annual Improvement Plan. We planned out actions, activities and milestones for our key improvement strategies. We continue to work on our Strategic Plan Goals:
Wellbeing Goal: Strengthen student wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement.
Learning Goal: Optimise the learning growth of every student.
Sports and Camp
Our students show remarkable enthusiasm and dedication to both their learning and extracurricular activities. From the Year 3 Day Camp at Kinglake to the spirited Staff vs. Student Cricket Match, every activity has seen students fully engaged and having fun. It was particularly exciting for our students to come 3rd place in the Hot Shots State Championship Tennis at Kooyong, where they demonstrated both skill and sportsmanship.
Values Assembly
Today, we celebrated our school values at the Whole School Assembly recognising students for their commitment to upholding the values Caring, Honesty, Excellence, Respect, Responsibility. These students demonstrated their Values in everyday moments and consistently throughout Semester 2.
It was great to see so many students being rewarded for demonstrating the different values and to hear about the example they are setting for their peers.
Exciting visitors to EVPS
This week the Star Weekly came out to photograph students and the Literacy Team after receiving the National Award for Excellence - Teaching Primary English at the 2024 Primary English Teachers Association of Australia. Keep an eye out for the article in the Star Weekly - we hope to share it in our final newsletter.
Elves have landed - mischievous elves have descended upon the school, in clasSrooms, in the office and school yard! Keep an eye out for them because they're keeping an eye on you!
Christmas Raffle - Amazing Prices!
The festive season is upon us, and we are excited about our Christmas Raffle, with tickets sent home last week. The raffle will be drawn during our final assembly on 16th December, and I encourage all families to get involved and support the fundraiser.
Please keep an eye out for our final newsletter, which will be sent out in Week 11, wrapping up the year and providing important information for the start of the 2025 school year.
Kind regards,
Rachel Griffiths, Acting Principal
