‘Tis the season to return all library books!
On Friday the 6th December we are making way for the stocktake. This process can be smooth if all books are returned. This process can also turn me into The Grinch where I march about demanding overdues be returned. No student likes to see this. We do love 'The Grinch' here in this library but it’s better on the shelf, rather than me turning green and hairy. I save that side of me for my own children.
We have loved all of the new additions donated to our fabulous library over the past few weeks. Big thanks to students and families for donating some seriously ace books. We now have 47 Mr Men books keeping Mr Funny entertained. We love receiving books and the students love seeing their named dedication on the inside covers. It’s the little things that make library time so special. If you are doing a pre-Chrissy cull of any books, we would love to add them to the collection.
Let’s end the year with all books coming back. I have a feeling that just like The Grinch, my small heart will grow three sizes the day I check the computer system and all books are snug on the shelf ready for another brilliant year in 2025.
It’s a good time to remember the wise words of Dr Suess at this time of the year:
“What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas….perhaps….means a little bit more!” (A little bit more means books, always books).
Happy reading and happy hunting-for-overdue-books
