From the Educators

Hamish Ridgway

OSHC Educator

Hi everyone, my name is Hamish and I am one of the educators at LNPS OSHC. I recently joined the team at the start of Term 3 and have absolutely loved my time here so far. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education at Flinders University, with the ambition of becoming a primary school teacher. Working in OSHC has been a great way to gain experience that will help me in my future career.

It has been awesome getting to know the students in OSHC over the past few months and working alongside our brilliant staff. I have loved spending time outside with the students and kicking around the footy or soccer ball. It has also been fun to see them do more relaxed activities such as drawing or playing cards. In the short time I have been here, I have already seen the students grow and flourish as individuals and it has been a pleasure to see them build positive relationships with one another.

Over the last few weeks, we have been focusing on the environment as part of our OSHC program. This has included the students learning about their role in keeping our environment happy and healthy. We have also been caring for and nurturing our lovely OSHC garden.

I am really looking forward to continuing my time as part of the OSHC team during vacation care and the 2025 school year. Having completed my second year of study, I will now be moving into a qualified educator role. I am really excited about this and can't wait to get to know all of our students more and see them develop.

See you around!
