Cronulla Parish Christmas Celebrations

 

Dear Parents/Guardians

 

As the school year draws to a close, can I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your support of the College and wish you and your families a Blessed and Holy Christmas. May the Lord keep us safe and protect us over the Christmas period and may you have a wonderful holiday. We look forward to welcoming our second year 7 cohort at the beginning of 2025, expanding to be a year 7, 8, 11 & 12 Co-educational Catholic College.

Staff Farewells

As a College we would like to acknowledge a number of the teaching staff who we will be farewelling at the end of the year. We also thank them for their wonderful service and contribution made to St Aloysius College Cronulla.

  • Mr Byron Hurst - on leave throughout 2025 and then retiring from teaching at the end of 2025.
  • Ms Kerryn Morissey - moving to Mount St Joseph Milperra as an English/History teacher.
  • Mr Patrick Robinson: completed his temporary English teacher appointment at the end of the year.
  • Mr Evan Souris: his 2 year appointment as Lasallian youth Minister concludes.
  • Mrs Shannon Gee: will be on maternity leave in 2025.

New Staff - 2025

We will be welcoming the following new staff in 2025.

  • Mr Robert Reilly: currently Year Coordinator/English/RE teacher at Marist College Penshurst. Has been a Year Coordinator at Penshurst for the past 10 years. In 2025 will be the Instructional Leader - Wellbeing Year 11.
  • Mrs Lea-Kathryn Nelson: currently Creative Arts Coordinator/Visual Arts/RE teacher at Marist College Penshurst. Has been Creative Arts Coordinator at Penshurst for the past 5 years.  In 2025 will be the Instructional Leader - Head of Creative Arts.
  • Ms Bethany Stevens, a Science teacher at Aquinas College Menai, will join our Science department.
  • Mr Darrin Munro, currently Leader of Learning/Pedagogy at Good Samaritan Catholic College, Hinchinbrook will become the Leader of Intervention.
  • Mrs Bronwen Cartwright, currently an English teacher at St Patrick’s College Sutherland, will join us as an English teacher in 2025.

Principal’s Address - Tuesday, 3 December - End of Year Awards Ceremony

I provide to parents/carers the speech I gave at our end of year awards ceremony held on Tuesday, 3 December.

 

 

HSC Morning Tea Wednesday, 18 December 

In recognition and celebration of the Class of 2024, Year 12 students are invited to return to St Aloysius Cronulla for the ‘HSC Morning Tea’ from 10-11am on Wednesday, 18 December in the playground.  

 

 

Key Dates for the beginning of 2025

Monday, 3 February 

Years 7 and 11 (+ Year 12 peer support leaders) students return to school.

 

Tuesday, 4 February

Years 8 and 12 students return to school.

 

Wednesday, 12 February

9.30am - 11.15am: Opening Mass / Welcome to Year 7 / Year 12 Awards ceremony - St Aloysius Parish Cronulla.

 

Once again I would like to wish all of our families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to celebrating the successes of our Year 12 (2024) HSC results at the end of this year and welcoming our new year 7 and year 11 cohorts at St Aloysius College Cronulla at the beginning of 2025.
