Welcome Back to School!
We kicked off the new school year with an exciting session in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program for 3/4CB. The students had a fantastic time exploring the garden and discovering the rewards of their hard work.
A highlight of the session was harvesting a huge watermelon that had been growing all summer long! Thanks to the dedication of Rod, our amazing maintenance man, who kept up with the watering during the break, the fruit thrived and was ready for picking.
It was a wonderful way to start the program, and we look forward to many more hands-on experiences in the garden and kitchen this year!
Arigatou!

Student Reflections:
Today was fun because we got to do SAKGP. We made all kinds of food, dip, bread, muffins and watermelon salad. We even made are own placemats. After we went back to our classroom. Then we came back to the library for lunch, it was like a restaurant. My favorite dish was the spaghetti, at the end we got our rhubarb muffins. Today was super fun and exciting. I enjoyed it very much! By Lulubelle
Today we did our first Stephnie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.I was a little nervous because it was my first time helping cook. But there was one thing that surprised me. I saw a lot of new utensils but my favourite one was the garlic smasher. It was hard until my friend Luka helped me. After we made it we all tried it. I tried it but I only liked the salad and the dessert.
