COMMON GROUND YEAR 2 EXCURSION

Our Year 2 students had a wonderful day out at Common Ground farm in Freshwater Creek this week.

Students participated in an interactive farm tour and a hands-on 'Understanding Where My Food Comes From' workshop. Throughout the excursion, students explored sustainable farming practices, learning how food is grown and harvested, and developed an understanding of the importance of locally grown produce. This experience aims to strengthen students’ connection to land, food and community while encouraging healthy and sustainable food choices. Students explored the worm farm, made a pot out of newspaper to pot up a lettuce seedling to take home and got the chance to feed the goats.
