Term 3
Students are beginning this term by participating in a four-week unit focussed on soccer skills and games. At the same time, high-performing students are completing our field events: High Jump, Shot Put, and Discus. Throughout the soccer unit, students will develop fundamental movement skills and specific techniques.
In Week 2, the students finished their first set of four stations: dribbling, shooting, passing, and two-vs-two mini soccer games. Classes who had time were also able to play a brief soccer game against their classmates. Throughout the stations, students were encouraged to kick with the inside of the foot, trap the ball with the inside of the foot, and dribble using both the inside and the outside of the foot. As they apply their skills in mini soccer games, students are developing their teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence in a fun and inclusive environment.
