WA Student Assistance Payment is now available
Eligible Western Australian families can now claim the WA Student Assistance Payment, providing financial support to help with school-related costs.
Payments available:
• $150 for each Kindergarten and Primary student
• $250 for each Secondary student
To submit your claim, you'll need your child's 8-digit WA Student Number (WASN). You can find this on your child's School Report, which was issued at the end of last term. If you're unable to locate the report, please contact the School and we'll be happy to assist.
Claims can be made through the ServiceWA app or online at www.education.wa.edu.au/wasap
Claims close Friday 25 September 2026.
AngliSchools to Enter Early Childhood Education and Care
has announced plans to extend its education offering into early childhood education and care, marking a significant step in its commitment to supporting children and families from the early years of learning through to Year 12.
The new initiative is designed to provide high-quality care for children aged 2 to 4, located within AngliSchools communities, and shaped by the system-wide values of Faith, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence.
AngliSchools Chief Executive Officer, The Reverend Peter Laurence OAM, said the initiative reflected AngliSchools long-standing commitment to serving families.
‘AngliSchools has always been committed to providing outstanding schools which educate the whole child and strengthen the communities we serve,’ The Reverend Laurence said.
‘Entering early childhood education and care is a natural extension of our mission to provide a high quality, inclusive and caring education, one that is deeply immersed in Anglican Identity.Families are seeking high-quality care in trusted environments, and this initiative will allow AngliSchools to support children and families from an even earlier stage of their educational journey.’
‘Our schools are already deeply connected to their local communities. By developing childcare services alongside our existing schools, we will provide continuity, care and a strong sense of belonging for children and their families.’
John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School will be the first location for an Early Learning and Care Centre, before AngliSchools considers future expansion across the system.
The Reverend Laurence said the pilot would be approached thoughtfully and deliberately.
‘This is a significant step. It’s important that thorough planning is undertaken prior to opening,’ he said.
‘Our focus will be on quality, safety, sustainability and alignment with AngliSchools values. The first centre at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School will allow us to enter into these years of education and care, building a model that is high-quality and responsive to the needs of our communities.’
Principal, Mr Jason Bartell, said the School was pleased to support AngliSchools in this next stage of growth.
‘We are delighted that John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School will be the pilot school for this important new chapter in the life of AngliSchools,’ Mr Bartell said.
‘The School has always valued strong partnerships with families, and this initiative gives us the opportunity to build those relationships even earlier.
‘We see this as a wonderful opportunity to support families, strengthen community connection and offer children a caring and supported start within the AngliSchools family.’
AngliSchools is working towards opening the first early learning centre in 2028. Other details will be shared as planning progresses.
From the Archives
To celebrate Founders' Week, the Archives Office will be open daily from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 August, between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Staff, parents, past students and members of our school community are warmly invited to visit and explore the rich history of John Wollaston Anglican Community School.
Teachers are encouraged to book their classes for a session, where students can discover historical photographs and learn about John Wollaston and the Wollaston family, gaining a deeper appreciation of our school's heritage.
We also extend a special invitation to our Year 12 students to visit during lunchtime or before or after school in the lead-up to their final examinations. It is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your journey and celebrate the memories you've made throughout your time at John Wollaston.
Outside of Founders' Week, the Archives Office is open every Tuesday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. We look forward to welcoming you.

Now in its 9th year, the Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night has raised more than $200,000 for WA children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
