Visual Art

Welcome back to 2026 which will be a very exciting and busy year in the Art Room. Later in the year (most likely early Term 4) we will be hosting our biennial Art Show. I am looking forward to working with this year's Art Captains, Olivia C and Aurora G and the wider GRPS community to present a wonderful exhibition and celebration of student works.
Just a reminder that each student requires an art smock for their art lessons. This is to keep their school uniform protected and reminds the students to be proud of their presentation when representing our school. For many year levels, we will be requiring them from Week 2 onwards.
Smocks can be purchased from the school uniform shop but they can also be found in shops like KMart, Big W and Target. You might also have an old thickish shirt at home that would work just as well (as long as it fits!). It is also a good idea if you can somehow make your child's smock stand out so that the children can easily find their smock in the class tub. For example, if you have a paint pen or fabric paint, you could draw or write something on the front that your child will recognize.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE SMOCKS ARE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH NAME AND CLASS and given to your child's classroom teacher for storage.
For younger students, it would be great if you could show them how to put their smock on and get them to practice this a few times - it takes up a lot of class time if we have to help every child put their smock on!!
I really appreciate your assistance with this.
