Co-Curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

Term 1, Week 2 - Sport Trials
With the beginning of Week 3, we have been able to complete the trial process. All boys should know their team by now. If unsure, boys should be able to see this through TASS Orbit App. If still unsure, boys can come past the Sport Office and ask for their team allocation.
It may be the case that some boys feel that they have been placed in teams below their skill level. We understand the trial and grading process happens quickly and can be too short a time for boys to truly showcase their talents. With this in mind, the first three weeks of the season are an extension of the grading period. During this time boys may be moved to different teams within their sports. So, the best thing to do, if you feel you are in the wrong team, is to train hard, listen well and play your best. If you do this, coaches will notice and move players accordingly.
Draws for the weekend’s fixtures will be available through the Orbit App, emailed to all boys and hard copies placed around the Junior School. If you are having issues with your app, please contact the IT department. This is a vital link to all the information for co-curricular activities. It is expected that all boys will know where they are playing and arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their game. Should parking be an issue, and it can be at some locations, boys should get out of the car and walk into their playing venue to be on time and warm up/prepare with their team. Boys are expected to be in their full playing uniform, available from the uniform shop, for the first round on Saturday 14 February.

Junior School Cross Country and Lenten Fundraising
This year, students in Years 5 and 6 will initiate their Lenten fundraising activities ahead of schedule, concentrating their efforts on the Stage 3 Cross Country Carnival, taking place on Wednesday 25 February 2026 on the back ovals of the College. The boys will be seeking sponsorship for their involvement in either a 2km run for 10-year-olds or a 3km run for 11 and 12-year-olds. All funds will go towards helping those less fortunate and more powerless than ourselves. This year’s Lenten partner is the Edmund Rice Foundation, supporting Edmund Rice Ministries in Kenya.
In 2025, we raised more than $25,000 for our Lenten Partners. We kindly ask you to please give generously and support the boys of the Junior School as they run to make a difference in other people’s lives.
Donations may be returned after the Cross Country Carnival and no later than Friday 13 March 2026.
The Cross Country Carnival will also serve as selections for the Junior School Cross Country Team. The first four boys in each age group will then proceed to represent the College at the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival at The Kings School, Wednesday 1 April.
I wish all the boys the best of luck for this weekend and the first round of summer sport. Keep your heads held high, play your best and support your teammates. Most importantly, have fun.
