PLC Blue is Buzzing!
What a joy it has been to welcome your children into PLC Blue for 2026! These first few weeks have been filled with laughter, new friendships, and wonderful learning. We have loved getting to know every student and are so excited about the year ahead. Thank you for sharing your children with us — we feel lucky to be part of their journey.
Bright Beginnings
Our first four weeks have centred on the Bright Beginnings program, exploring Hamlyn Views' school values through stories, games, music, and hands-on activities. Students have met Lenny Learner, Rani Respect, learnt all about being Sasha Safe, and used the Zones of Regulation to identify emotions and build helpful strategies. Seeing students name how they are feeling and choose ways to support themselves has been truly heartwarming. Our daily Yarning Circle has quickly become a favourite — a calm and connected way to begin each day.
English and Maths
In English, students have enjoyed rich stories including 'I Am Me', 'Where is the Green Sheep?', and 'Share Said the Rooster', with reading, writing, and craft bringing each text to life. Students have been building their communication skills through Key Word Signs, AAC devices, and vocabulary charts — and the growth we are seeing is already incredible. In Maths, learning has been playful and hands-on — counting games, patterns with playdough and marbles, positional language, and collecting data about our favourite foods. Numbers are woven right through our day!
Personal and Social Learning
Our values have come alive through art, craft, and meaningful social experiences. Students have created marble artwork, painted butterflies, made playdough, and explored our school grounds on nature walks. Social games like Who's Under the Blanket? have sparked laughter and built wonderful connections, and Choir has been a brilliant opportunity to share our voices with the wider school community. It is lovely to see students growing in confidence, communication, and care for one another.
Swimming
Swimming has been an absolute highlight! Each week, students have been floating, kicking, diving for sinkies, and playing with water toys — all while building their water safety knowledge and confidence. The smiles in the pool each week are just wonderful, and we are so proud of how far every student has come already.
What an incredible start and we are just getting warmed up! We cannot wait to see what the rest of this term brings for our amazing students. Thank you for your support and for trusting us with your children every day. The best is absolutely yet to come!
