NDIS Navigator

At Hamlyn Views School, we know that any mention of changes to the NDIS can sometimes cause worry for families. We want to take this opportunity to reassure our school community that your children will continue to be supported, and we are here to help every step of the way.

The NDIS is making some updates to how plans are reviewed and how supports are described. These changes are designed to make the system clearer, more consistent, and sustainable for the future.

While there may be adjustments to processes or planning conversations, the most important thing remains the same: children who need support will continue to receive support.

If your child has an NDIS plan, you may notice:

  • Slightly different wording around supports
  • More focus on building independence and everyday skills
  • Clearer explanations about how funding can be used

If you are unsure about anything in your child’s plan, please reach out. You are not expected to figure this out on your own.

“New Framework Planning” is currently only being rolled out from July 2026 for people 16 year plus and it will be a slow rollout over years.

Please remember:

  • There is no need to panic about NDIS changes.
  • Support for eligible children is continuing.
  • Our school team is here to help guide you.

As your NDIS Navigator, I can assist with:

  • Preparing for plan reviews
  • Understanding funding categories
  • Talking through any questions or concerns

We value our partnership with families and believe that when school and home work together, children thrive.

If you would like to chat, ask a question, or simply check in about your child’s plan, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are a community, and we will continue to support each other and every child in our care.
