School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Over the first few weeks this term, students in all classes have been participating in our Bright Beginnings program. School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is big part of the Bright Beginnings program, where students and staff work together to set up classroom routines and expectations, as well as getting to know one another and building positive relationships.

During the Bright Beginnings program students learn about our school values of Learning, Respect and Safety and how values link to our school expected behaviours.

Throughout the year our school expected behaviours are taught and reinforced through positive praise and tangible rewards which include our Monty Tokens. Positive praise works best when paired with specific task feedback to support students to make connections with what they are receiving the praise for. This also helps to encourage students to repeat that behaviour in the future. For example, "Great work packing away the toys, That is showing respect."

We are very proud of our students for their efforts in demonstrating our school values of Learning, Respect and Safety through our expected behaviours.
