Curriculum Day 1

Dr Judi Newman spent the day explaining the neuroscience behind how students learn best.

Teachers learnt about neurons, myelin, the synaptic gap, dendrites, receivers and how information is processed in the brain.  They also discovered the links between gut, heart and brain. They learnt how students recall and consolidate learning.  Armed with this information, teachers will expertly support all our students to learn to their best abilities.

Curriculum Day 2

Teachers spent part of the day familarising themselves with the School Strategic Plan and the directions for this year.  The OSHC staff joined all the IPS staff for First Aid and CPR training in the afternoon and the rest of the day, teachers were busily preparing their classrooms to welcome their students for their first day of school in 2026!
